Well it finally happened. Someone managed to correctly guess one of my most rewarding Remember This games ever. Rewarding for me because you all couldn’t get it. IN YOUR FACE EVERYONE.
Still. Got it.
But a massive well done to Casual Prolix who managed to guess correctly. It was Prisoner II on the Apple II. Great work friend!

On the one hand: Cheese and rice, I thought that if Mark’s made a shift to screen-capping youtube videos instead of reverse-searchable images, I might stand a chance. I am pretty sure you’re right.
On the other hand: I was just thinking about that game the other day and could not remember the name for the life of me. Victory for the nagging question in the back of my head!
The only difference is I can’t recall the skull on the top, let alone the blue roof! Unless he’s also gone to the trouble of changing the colours.
Unless it was one of the spin-offs from around that time. An outdoor version?
I know ‘Doom clone’ entered the colloquial gaming lexicon quite broadly, but I seem to recall that Wolf 3D gave rise to a lot of clones around that time, first. Blake Stone, Catacomb, and the like. Many of which were excellent.
Ive been looking at early FPS games for the last 10 minutes, i’m beginning to think its not a FPS game.
I think the perpective is to regular for a FPS, it’s more likely a turn based first person maze game.
