Good news, folks who are playing Pokémon Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire. There’s a free legendary ‘mon with your name on it right now.
All you have to do is start up your game of Pokémon, and select “Mystery Gift” on the main menu. From there, choose “Receive Gift”. You’ll have to connect your 3DS to the internet, and once you do, you can choose “Get With Code”. On this menu, input “POKEMON380381” if you’re in Europe or Australia, or “2015LATIOSLATIAS” if you’re in North America.
The game should tell you about a ticket that you’re supposed to take to Petalburg Gym. Download it. With this, you’ll be able to download either Latios or Latias — whichever legendary the game doesn’t normally gift you during the storyline. This way, you can have both! Neat, eh?
To fully receive the gift after you’ve downloaded it, head into a Pokémon center. Any will do. Find this lady:
Talk to her, she’ll give you an Eon Ticket. Take this Eon Ticket to your dad in Petalburg Gym, and he should take you to a ferry…
…that should take you to an island containing whatever legendary you don’t have. Awesome.
According to Serebii, the promotion lasts until 2 March, so get on it while you can!

Just to clarify; this gives you the Eon Ticket, which allows you to get Latios/Latias that you didn’t get through playing the story. If you already got the Eon Ticket through Street Passing with someone who already had it, you won’t get it again.
Cheers
oh i was excited for a second there, i spose this is good news for people who live in small towns
Good to know. Would have been nice to have another, but I won’t be too greedy. Now if only they’d have another event for some actually difficult to obtain Pokemon, like Mew…
Oh man, I’d kill for a Mew event. I actually went along to the Pokemon Tour thing in Sydney they had when I was a kid to get my Mew for Pokemon Blue (and for all of my friend’s games; a nightmare when you had to do a in-game trade with a Nintendo rep who had a cartridge full of them, meaning I was running around catching junk Pokemon to trade on each game). I’d love an opportunity to get one for the current gen games.
Good. I haven’t run into anyone in Aus with street pass who went to one of the Eon ticket events in Victoria!
At first I was confused because I thought getting the other WAS part of the main storyline. Having read the comments, I guess I must’ve street passed someone with the ticket without realising. Does that mean everyone I street passed subsequent to that would also already have a ticket? If so, neat.
Yup, it’s basically a viral unlock. Pretty nifty idea, IMHO.
