20 Minutes Of Project Cars Looking Gorgeous At 60 Frames Per Second

God bless you YouTube for allowing video footage at 60 frames per second. Now we can watch a good 20 minutes of Project Cars looking pretty. At its most pretty you might say.

Here's my advice: open the above video, crank up the quality and have a good gawk at one of the most beautiful racing games of all time. It's taking its sweet time coming out, that's for sure, but hopefully it'll be worth the wait.

Let if buffer for 10 minutes

I dunno - the car models are gorgeous, but the environments just look so lifeless and dull. To my eyes anyways. I think personality and a nice sense of style and aesthetic impress more than attempted photo-realism. It looks nice, sure, but it still looks a little too clinical to completely 'wow'. Not trying to be a naysayer or anything, and I'll be buying this on the Wii U just so that hopefully we can try and prove that third party games sell, but it's not really my thing.

Cannot wait for Drift Stage or The 90's Arcade Racer though - they're more my bag. Still, I hope this game succeeds and does well - there is obvious love and attention to detail being put into it, and that's worth praising.

The tracks are near on identical to the real world counterparts, hence the somewhat dry looking environments.

Yeah, I realise that, I just personally don't think it makes for a nice looking game. Even more so because the tracks have real-world analogs - it makes the odd looking trees and clean geometry of the buildings stand out as odd that little bit more that it should.

Yeah, I have to agree, it feels like driving around an abandoned airport.

Really needs some trackside animation going on.

Someone was driving with a gamepad or a keyboard.

Yeah gotta say that guy was thrashing the engines, and that made me hate the video. Do it again with a wheel and maybe it might be better

Where's the sense of speed? Way to make 160km/h look milk-float slow guys...

Is this going to have Bathurst as a track, or any of the V8s?

Not sure about the V8, but it will have Mount Panorama circuit.
You can still make believe you are driving the 12hour.

This must be an old video with those menus and intro
