Professor Layton And Fantasy Life Are Getting Sequels On… Mobile

Proving once again that life is miserable and full of pain, the folks at publisher Level-5 announced this morning that the upcoming Fantasy Life 2 and Professor Layton 7 will both be for smartphones.

Above (via Siliconera) you can see the burning husk of Professor Layton, who after years and years of wonderful adventures has decided to retire to the world of mobile gaming. Gone are the big stories and worlds of previous games, replaced by a tabletop multiplayer party game, for some reason. They’re calling this one Layton 7, which is horrible, because that indicates this isn’t just a spinoff but a full-fledged next entry in the series.

And here’s a look at Fantasy Life 2, also for smartphones, which will feature, in addition to some of the mechanics from the first game, a village-building section that looks awfully familiar…

Both games may come to 3DS too, although at this point it’s unclear how many people will actually want them there. What a disappointment.

  • As a parent you feel obligated to give your child a cell phone so you can be able to contact him at any time. Your child’s cell phone activities can be kept in check thanks to 1TopSpy, the most advanced and reliable mobile phone tracking software. While there is a sense of security in knowing you can reach him, it is overshadowed by the problems caused by the access to inappropriate websites, and exposure to unsupervised texting or chatting. This could be the most valuable tool in a parent’s modern day arsenal, allowing you to learn the truth about how your child uses his cell phone and take action to keep him safe.

  • Such depressing news; why must companies always sell out and alienate their fans to attract the ‘majority audience’.
I know the answer: greed; just wishful thinking really.
