“Refrigerator full of Super Nintendo Jurassic Park games”. That eBay listing title says everything your heart needs to know.
I mean, it’s a refrigerator! Summer is coming up, you’re gonna need one of those if you don’t already have one! Or if you need two!
But then, it’s also full of Super Nintendo games! And not just any Super Nintendo games, 300 copies of one of the best. Jurassic Park on the SNES was a masterpiece, combining Zelda-like overworld gameplay with interior sections that switched to FPS.
Here’s a speedrun by HeyItsLeonPowalski to give you an idea, if you’ve never seen/played the game before:
As a bonus, there are also a few other Jurassic Park games being thrown in, like the Game Boy and Genesis versions.
If you’re wondering how/why any single person would own so many copies of one video game, the seller explains:
In 2012 I had an opportunity to buy out a portion of a game store. It was there in the basement of this old store that I had the opportunity to purchase a number of Jurassic Park carts i.e. 120ish. I said, “why not, that could be fun”. I posted the haul on NintendoAge, and goodness, did things escalate quick. Soon I had 200, then 250, and now right around 300. I traded people for them, did some auctions where members bid using jurassic park games as currency, and some kind guys and gals even donated to the cause.
So why sell them now?
There is no reason per say as to why sell them now. I have had a lot of fun with them, and this is an opportunity for me to share the fun I’ve had. It’s also an opportunity for me to possibly pass the torch so another can share the fun and maybe add to it. If any soul dares that is!
Note that this isn’t an auction; it’s $US1500 buy it now.
If I didn’t have to ship this halfway around the world, me and my soul would totally dare. Especially if that Bacardi is thrown in.

Cool.
“Fridge and Bacardi not included”. Pass.
A fridge full is a bit much. I’ll just settle for a Barbasol can full.
Oh! In Ex Machina, there are these beautiful sweeping plains that look like Isla Nublar, and then programmer duder totally uses Barbasol shaving cream. I’m positive it was a nod to Nedry.
A Nodry.
haha why am i tempted by this? there is no logical explanation lol
per se`
A friend did this to me once except it wasnt as cool as a fridge full of the same game, it was my tool box full of paperclips, a big 20L+ box at that…
NFI where my tools went, but i’v been using these paperclips for everything for the past 5 years
I’m worried
Oh wow, that speedrun brings back memories.
Ok so, back in the day I won a Jurassic Park pack from some Nintendo magazine. I think it was Nintendo…something monthly. Dont remember the name of it. Anyway, I won the Super Nes game, the gameboy game, a t-shirt, poster, cd soundtrack and a JP towel or something. Was so excited I almost crapped my pants. I was in year 5 at school so it was kind of a HUGE deal in my life.
Why don’t you just bury them in really deep hole somewhere and keep it a secret for years! Then make a stupid doco on it!
