Jungling is one of the trickiest things to do in League of Legends. Thankfully, there are lots of experienced players out there who are willing and able to lend a helping hand.
YouTube channel foxdropLoL — a great resource for beginners or really anyone trying to hone their skills in League of Legends — recently put out a short and handy guide for one key aspect of jungling: actually clearing the jungle. Obviously the specifics of a jungler’s mechanics vary depending on which champion you choose to play as, but foxdrop highlighted a few useful rules of thumb that you should keep in mind regardless of who you pick. These include:
- When using Smite to take out a specific camp of monsters, focus on the biggest monster first. Then move on to the mini ones. The only exception he identifies is with the “chicken camp”, which is officially known as the raptor camp.
- While we’re on the subject: always remember to choose Smite as a Summoner Spell!
- Go for the gromp or krugs camps first, because killing them grants you bonuses that will make clearing other camps easier. Also, there’s only one monster in the gromp camp — the giant toad. So you don’t even have to worry about the minis!
