Might And Magic Heroes VII Beta Will Be Playable Next Tuesday

The closed beta for Might and Magic Heroes VII will be online from early in the morning next week for a fortnight’s worth of testing.

The closed beta, open only if you’re willing to pre-order Ubisoft’s latest entry in the series, will run from 2am AEST on the 26th — so you’d have to be somewhat insomniac as well — until 2am on the 9th of June.

  • Hopefully it is better than the last. I’ve really liked the HOMM games for ages (I remember playing hot seat HOMM2 and 3 back in uni nigh on 15 years ago now.. sheesh), but the last one I thought was decidedly disappointing.

    • VI was miles better than V though.

Edit: After a quick trawl through review scores apparently III was the bottom of the series. Madness.

      • None of those sites can ever be trusted again. 3 was the BEST in the series.

Also, 6 was better than 5, but for me bugs really killed it. And way too many missions with timers on them. I hate that. HOMM is ALL about cultivating an impenetrable resource-collection safe zone, ensuring that every hero gets to do the stat-bonus circuit, and piling a steamroller army on a decked-out hero to take territory whenever you feel like you can do it without losing any of your max-rank troops.

        • Yeah I played II, III and IV and loved all, but III most of all.

Have you ever played Heroes Chronicles? It’s like a set of missions for Heroes III that have the best story of all of them. GOG.com has them all for cheap. Highly recommended.

        • I personally loved 2 the best. I think the art style just grabbed me and still holds a special place in my heart, as it was the first Heroes game I really seriously got into. I loved 3 as well, but I wasn’t a fan of the art style. It was good, but not great. Gameplay in 3 was kickass though! 🙂

          • Gotta admit I played the hell out of 2. Had the CD in my stereo for ages, just playing those tracks that came with.
