I’ve spent a lot of time in the sprawling open world of Xenoblade Chronicles X, doing quests and just exploring. And given how much time I’ve spent running, that got me to wondering just how large the main continent was.
Thus I decided to quick travel to one side of the map and run to the farthest point (that I could reach anyway). Long story short? It took 31:25.
I should mention that what I ran may not be the straightest path (as mountains and cliffs are often in the way), but it is the quickest path I know. And if nothing else, it sure was one heck of a scenic trip.
If you want to see a time-lapsed version of the run, check out the video below. And if you have the game and can beat my time, run it yourself and post a video below.
Xenoblade Chronicles X was released in Japan on April 29, 2015, for the Wii U. It will be released in the West sometime in 2015.

31 minutes on foot…
What about a mech?
Definitely less time but apparently you’ll be on foot for the first 50 hours haha.
Luckily the running speed is pretty fast in this game,
God, I can only imagine how long it took them to design such a massive and detailed world :s
Is there any loading between sections when you do this?
Shouldn’t be because developers already said that Xenoblade X will have no loading screen. Everything is seamless.
It used to take about that long to go from one end to the other of The Barrens in Wow on a 60% mount.
It did not.
All of Kalimdor maybe. But the Barrens isn’t that big, especially on a mount.
Alright. Maybe 10-20mins. Took so long I’d leave it on autorun to get a quick cup of tea.
All I can think of is, how much better would this game be on PC, or even PS4…But I’m looking forward to it regardless 🙂
