It’s been a while since I’ve been to a good old fashioned LAN, so I have a soft spot in my heart for the guys at Relief LAN, who run an annual event in an attempt to raise money for charity. If you’re in vicinity of Diamond Creek, Victoria, why not head over St John’s Church and help these guys raise some dollars for Breakaways Camps, an organisation that tries to break the cycle of poverty and hopelessness among the needy.
The LAN is already in full flow, having started today at 10am. But you can head over any time and stay until it finishes at 8pm tomorrow night.
You can find out more about the LAN here.

Diamond Creeks about a 30 minute drive from where I used to live, its now an hour and 40 away but I like the sentiment and agree its been ages since I’ve been to a LAN or even an Internet cafe with friends
It’s good fun! Although I tend to go more towards local/couch co-op at someone’s house these days. Gives me the same vibe holding small LANs did when I was a kid.
It used to be about 2 hours from where I lived, now it’s about 13 hours -_-
Damn, a bit of notice and I could have been there. More needs to be done to promote Aussie gaming events.
A bunch of nerds.
Hilarious. My wife works for Breakaway camps, I handle their IT, I’m a gamer, I’m a lan(er) and run video game events and I knew NOTHING about this. oh boy. Going to drop in tomorrow to say what up 🙂
What’s up with the bandanas? Everyone seems to be wearing one.
That was a LAN we did for CanTeen earlier in the year. CanTeen sell bandanas to fund raise.
Cool, thanks for that info!
