Two words.
Absolutely beautiful.
Man, I’d love a new, competently made Neverending Story. Even without the awful writing and acting from the second and the awful everything from the third though, I can’t imagine they could nail what made the original so great nowadays.
Maybe if they were to hand it to Guillermo del Toro…
The first 1 was great because they didn’t focus hardcore on entertaining children, the second two were like Jar Jar Binks versions almost. (for the Children)
The first one wasn’t that great – only the song is really good. So much better fantasy, including for kids (such as Willow). Same with Harry Potter and to a lesser extent LotR – there is so much better stuff out there, especially with books that aren’t famous due to a mega budget movie series.
How does a horse die of sadness? That’s even worse than Padme dying of a broken heart (especially as dying of a broken heart is merely a euphemism for suicide).
