Mafia III Announced, Coming Next Year

Following the game’s official announcement last week, 2K Games is now ready to show us more — in the form of a reveal trailer.

Mafia III takes place in 1968 and stars Lincoln Clay, a Vietnam veteran. We can see him take out a gentleman for his new family in the trailer. Plus there’s “House of the Rising Sun”, which is always great.

The game arrives on PC, PS4 and Xbox One next year.

  • Whilst I look forward to this I’m going to wait and see. Mafia 2 was such a huge disappointment compared to the original, the original rivalled Gta in terms of story and quality, number two was abysmal and Layden with f bombs for no reason

    • It’s not too late to play the first Mafia, it has aged really well, the story is fantastic, and can be played in widescreen (ahead of its time).

      • didn’t one of the updates allow you to skip it after a certain number of failures though? – my issue was with the cops always able to catch up to you in a chase, even if they were in the scrappy Schubert Six when you had taken the race car to the streets

        • Yes the race became optional in a patch because so many people complained. I personally enjoyed the racing, and wished there was more.

  • I am a huge fan of the first Mafia, and was hoping Mafia 3 would be set in the same time period, so I am a bit disappointed. I’m sure this will be good, I like the idea, but it was not what I was hoping for.

  • Looking forward to this one.. I always thought Mafia 2 drew inspiration from the Godfather & Goodfellas, this one kinda looks like its inspired by Carlito’s Way & American Gangster.

I wonder if there will be a mission..
where you have to take out Vito, like how u had to take out the protagonist of Mafia 1 in the last game who is in witness protection. Thought that was a great way to connect the games.

  • perfect representation of the game, showcasing all the amazing new gameplay features, characters and environments.

    • Gee you’d think some people are interested in the idea of an interesting story or setting.

It’s not a tech demo, it’s a trailer. If it catches your interest then you can check out a review when it’s released or some gameplay videos when it’s you know, done and those are representative of the final product?
