Hearthstone‘s next expansion, The Grand Tournament, will go live on August 24, Blizzard just announced. You’ll be able to start buying packs and using some of the ridiculous new cards then.
Looks like you won’t have to wait too much longer before getting some of those ridiculous cards. Just four days. We can do this.
According to Blizzard:
The Grand Tournament card packs will be available to purchase via the in-game Shop on August 24 in the Americas and Europe regions for Windows and Mac PCs, iOS and Android tablets, and mobile phones, and pre-purchased card bundles can be opened upon the official release of The Grand Tournament as well. The Grand Tournament will raise its banners in Asia on August 25.
The announcement came on the Hearthstone blog, and you can read it here.

So this means the 25th in Australia right? Assuming you play on the NA server.
You can play the new Tavern Brawl already which includes the new cards.
Just played a couple of games this morning. Won with each class, however I feel the Joust mechanic is going to be too unreliable to base a competitive deck around it. Inspire however is far better than expected, although that might have been due to the fact that the Hunter Joust deck didn’t have much in the way of early removal, allowing Inspire combo minions to survive.
I’m very excited for these new cards and an almost definite shift in the meta. Shaman Totem here I come!
I’ve only played the brawl once so far (cmon lunch time) but the inspire mage seems SO MUCH stronger than the jousting.
Then again, a lot of the Brawls haven’t been overly balanced anyway.
I just had a quick game and won as a Hunter. Was excited to play the Acidmaw http://www.hearthpwn.com/cards/22393-acidmaw until I realised after playing it that is also damages your own minions! 🙂
The Lock and Load spell basically won the game for me though http://www.hearthpwn.com/cards/22258-lock-and-load
I’d like to know this too …
