Mod Makes Skyrim Look Like A Pixar Film

I would very much like to play this version of Skyrim. Modder UniqueUses has been playing around with Bethesda's last Elder Scrolls game, and while I've seen plenty of visual mods for Skyrim, this is something else. They recently uploaded a series of work-in-progress screen shots to Imgur for what they're calling "Toon Skyrim".

It looks incredible.

What's going on here?

"I'm basically making my own potato texture mod, with an enb [a visual mod] and weather that goes with it to help hide that ugly lod [level of detail]," said UniqueUses on reddit. "I like the potato texture style, but I think a lot of fixing up needs to be done for it to be playable. So I'm going to attempt to make things like signs and faces readable but still fit the potato style. For example, certain puzzles need to be seen, so I'm going to edit those."

Potato texture refers to a simplistic graphics style. It's often deployed to try and get games like Skyrim running on lower-end hardware.

The mod hasn't been released just yet, but it will reportedly be on Nexus Mods in the near future. In the meantime, you can view the impressive Imgur album below.

Photos (screenshots or renders?) look amazing, in-game video looks terrible. Looks like he just set the draw distance to zero so it's only loading low-res/long distance textures.

That's not in-game... The video is from an earlier ultra low graphics mod to illustrate the kind of effect the modder is going for.

funny thing is that what the game looks like when you take away the textures

Wow, that's a really awesome way to get it running on lower end PC's, I mean, It doesn't look that great, but it is 100x better than the Super Low Quality Versions

Everything looks very....bloby, like blurred low-res.
