This RPG Lets You Fight Heroes As A Random Monster

Over the past few years, comedy role-playing games have gone in all sorts of creative directions, letting players take on a range of jobs from shopkeeper to basketball player. Here’s one that lets you live the ultimate fantasy: playing as a level-one random encounter.

Mediocre Monster, a pitch for a game that will be on Kickstarter in the near future, stars a goblin named Gob whose job is to pretend to die to parties of RPG heroes. Check out the trailer here:

Singing aside, it looks pretty fun. The full pitch has some interesting details and promises that are worth checking out if you’re into RPGs, monsters, or RPG monsters. (As always, given that this is just a pitch, take it all with a grain of salt.)

Mediocre Monster is part of the Square Enix Collective — meaning that if it gets enough votes on the official website, Square will help support the game as it moves to Kickstarter.
