So Avalanche Studios’ Mad Max game is coming along nicely and while console owners don’t have terribly much to worry about when it comes to system specifications, it is a point of interest for PC gamers. Fortunately, the requirements are now available on Steam.
The game will be on the rough side for those with rigs equipped with overclocked i5-750s and GeForce 560 Tis. On the CPU side, the minimum spec is actually not so bad — an i5-650 or Phenom II 965 will see you through, though the GPU demands are a little higher — a 2GB GTX 660 Ti or HD 7870 is required.
Unsurprisingly, you’ll need an operating system with DirectX 11 support (so Vista and higher) and at least 6GB of system RAM.
The high-end requirements aren’t excessively more potent — you’ll find those below:
MINIMUM:
OS: 64 bit: Vista, Win 7, Win 8
Processor: Intel Core i5-650, 3.2 GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 965, 3.4 Ghz
Memory: 6 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660ti (2 GB Memory or higher) or AMD Radeon HD 7870 (2 GB Memory or higher)
DirectX: Version 11
Hard Drive: 32 GB available spaceRECOMMENDED:
OS: 64 bit: Win 7 SP1, Win 8.1
Processor: Intel Core i7-3770, 3.4 GHz or AMD FX-8350, 4.0 GHz
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 (3 GB Memory or higher) or AMD Radeon HD 7970 (3 GB Memory or higher)
DirectX: Version 11
Hard Drive: 32 GB available space
Something I should point out is that Mad Max is being published by Warner Bros, the company at least partially responsible for Arkham Knight‘s abysmal PC launch.
In Mad Max‘s favour, the game is being developed by a completely different studio with plenty of PC experience, so cautious optimism is advised.

4.0ghz amd 8370, 16gb ram, 4gb 970 gigabyte card here… awwww yeah getting this on pc for sure!
I’ll join you on the PC version party, awww yeah!
Preordered mad max on ps4 from jb. Good bundle deal if u were looking to get fury road on 3D bluray anyway. Looking forward to this game, looks pretty spectacular.
When I get my new PC I will be able to run this, will be a couple of months though 🙁
Be interesting to stack this along side Just Cause 3 once they’re both out. Same tech and same developer but different teams.
If it wasn’t for my 760 being 2gb I would be above recommended.
at least they’re realistic requirements and not ‘minimum spec to play at 5fps you’ll need: p4 with 512mb of ram’
i7 3770K, 8GB RAM(soon to be upgraded), NVidia 760 sli.
my only problem is my GPU’s are the 2GB versions
🙁 I’m still on an AMD 6870.
Really want to play some new games, but I just wonder what sort of performance cap I’m going to come up against with a new card with my current MB/CPU… it’s a Z77 board with i7-3770 cpu… Does anyone know what where I can find what the worst best GFX card would be that maxes out, as opposed to a card that is too good for the system and wouldn’t be given enough data to chew.
🙁
