A Fighting Game With Inflatable Waver People

Yep, you read that right. Sydney-based team Hojo Studio is making a fighting game solely consisting of those inflatable, wavey-arm promo people you usually see in car lots. It’s called Inflatality.

Because nothing says “fight of the century” better than beating someone with an inflatable arm. That would be a slow, slow death.

I’m not too sure how this game works, but Hojo Studio has been putting up pictures of people playing the game using controllers — so there’s that. At first I wasn’t sure if it would involve Kinect. I think I’d be happy either way.

I haven’t been to the local developer event in a few months, so I haven’t been able to see how it plays, but I’m confident this would be worth more than just a five minute novelty play. It wouldn’t be worth it, otherwise. Though I’m keen to see how they pull it off. Movement seems to be slow and clunky — in a good way. The same way Surgeon Simulator is laugh-at-your-own-mistakes clunky.

Inflatality will be appearing at PAX Aus this year, and it looks like it might be easy to spot:

Chalk up another thing to try at PAX.
