Wooooow. So that’s how it is, huh?
Splatfest — the event where Splatoon asks players to pick between two sides and duke it out against one another — is happening this weekend, and some of the trash talking I’ve seen in the Miiverse plaza is FIERCE, as evidenced by this screenshot taken by Brittany Rolstad. Honestly, I haven’t seen people get this riled up about a Splatfest since maybe the first one, Cats vs Dogs. Kind of makes sense, given that people already have strong opinions about art and science.
I mean, look at this comic by gitgudnami.
It’s potshots galore right now in Splatoon, for real.
I’ll say one thing. I have not picked sides yet, but I do know that people keep making fun of Team Science for embarrassing spelling errors.
I’m not trying to be mean; even Team Science acknowledges it:
It’s all in good fun though. That’s the beauty of Splatoon. Even when we’re tearing each other apart, we still come together when it matters most: makin’ a giant fuckin’ mess on the battlefield. Together.

There’s that phrase again.
What phrase?
“Throwing shade”. See, @panyue gets it 😛
It’s a stupid slang word. I prefer talking shit myself
Yeah you do ;D
Don’t we all?
Throwing shade? Wtf?
I’d still rather have that than “Preferred Bedroom Tidiness: Messy or Tidy?” which is what Oceania (Australia) has. I suppose we should be thankful for such an uncontroversial topic. (Or maybe it is a huge issue, and I’m blissfully unaware?)
It’s a huge issue when your parents prefer it to be tidy while it’s actually messy 😛
Mine is messy atm, so I went with team messy. It doesn’t help that I have cosplay stuff in my room and in the lounge too.
Yeah, it was down to the wording really. I mean I’ll say mine’s ordered chaos, but it’s still messy 😛 Even if I think Marie’s got the right idea instead.
Gooky and marie, sitting in a tree? =P
I actually lost a game from my room being messy. I really hope I find it when I clean up, otherwise expensive postage will have to be paid.
That sounds like a lovely tree. So orderly and tidy too 😛
I’ve only once lost a game. Link To The Past, on GBA. I figured I must have left it up at the holiday resort we were staying at, since that was where I last saw it and the only time I remembered doing something with it was when I tipped all my games out, so it stood to reason that it must have somehow fallen by the wayside then. Then about a year later I was reaching around in the front of my backpack and what do you know, there it is hidden away in one of the small pockets there. It just slipped in there on the trip back or something 😛
That said I also seem to have lost one of my classic controllers. I know I lent one of them to a friend, but am not sure I got it back. But then I feel like I did find it again, though have no idea how it managed to disappear yet again after that.
I’m hoping something like that happens because I know that it’s never actually left the house

I was unaware Splatoon had these “pick a side” matches, what a great idea! Get kids (or older) to band together on a topic (stupid or not) and have fun
Annoyed that I have to choose between Messy VS Tidy and not Art VS Science. If it were up to me, I’d pick both Art and Science and run around the map shouting lyrics from Magic Fountain.
Can we get some salty emotes in here?
Those would be kinda helpful right about now.
