Earlier today I mentioned that I was finding it difficult to muster enthusiasm for Halo 5: Guardians’ single player campaign, despite being super excited for the multiplayer.
This video went a long way to changing my opinion.
This video doesn’t necessarily feature any of the big ‘epic’ Halo moments you might expect from a single player demo. What it does feature is Halo 5’s buttery 60 frames per second gunplay. It’s Halo as we know it, but smoother.
Just visually, I’m super impressed with Halo 5: Guardians. I think we’re forgetting this is the series debut on a brand new console. In a weird way I’ve almost been under estimating how good it might look in action. It’s funny watching a video like this. I almost understand — just by watching — what this game will play like and that’s a cool experience.
Halo 5 looks buttery smooth at 60fps.
Apparently 343i uses dynamic resolution scaling to maintain 60 frames but at the expense of 1080p resolution.

The game does not appear to feel much like Halo in its heyday, TTK seems a lot faster.
Nah, its a different beast entirely these days.
Absolutely love it! So glad they got the guy from Republic Commando on board now (though I was sceptical at first!).
The jackals are speaking English!? Holy moly.
Holy crap that looks good. I haven’t played since Reach – but that looks worth getting an Xbox One for.
I want to go to there
