If you’ve been waiting patiently for the anime-style roguelike space shooter GALAK-Z to finally make it’s debut on Steam, then you won’t have to wait much longer — because it will finally become available for purchase tomorrow.
The game, which is broken up into a series of episodes while retaining the one-run nature of a roguelike, has been available on PS4 since August. The difficulty caught people off guard a tad, and Evan found that it wasn’t messing around when it came to permadeaths either.
“The decisions will change almost constantly, depending on how strong your ship is or how a level is laid out. That mutability is the reason why Galak-Z feels like it deserves the same kind of rabid, meticulous devotion that mushroomed around games like Spelunky,” Evan said in his review.
17-Bit’s 2D dogfighter unlocks around 6:00 AM or 7:00 AM tomorrow, going off the counter on Steam. There’s no price listed for PC yet, although the PC will benefit from having the performance and optimisations added to the game after its console launch. It’s available for $29.95 on the Australian PSN store, and the Steam pricing should be in roughly the same ballpark.
