Inside The Nintendo Building Few Outsiders Ever See

Inside The Nintendo Building Few Outsiders Ever See

Eight years ago, Kotaku reader Daniel sent us a YouTube clip where he waltzes right into Nintendo’s original Kyoto headquarters. Even now, it’s a fascinating peek into a historic building that isn’t open to the general public.

Since YouTube took the original clip down because it had a “Stephen Colbert” tag (Daniel used to tag everything with Colbert’s name for poops and giggles and YouTube’s bots aren’t that smart), he’s recently re-upped it.

And since the clip’s post also hasn’t survived Kinja, we’re publishing it again. In case you’ve never seen it, here, have a look:

Watching it again all these years later, it’s rather remarkable. Daniel walks right into a place and fumbles through in Japanese. The woman he meets has a good sense of humour about the whole thing and is kind enough to answer a few questions and even shows him around briefly.

That being said, right now, I certainly wouldn’t recommend trying to enter this building. But, it’s fascinating to get a glimpse inside.
