What happens when the creators of two of the most beloved games of yore, Earthworm Jim and The Neverhood, join forces to fight crime? I don’t know, but they have made a lovely game together.
I’ve been waiting to play the Kickstarter-backed Armikrog for what seems like ages but was actually under a year, so that’s a lot of personal drama for nothing.
It’s a point-and-click adventure to a strange planet in order to save another planet from some planet-ending stuff. It’s pretty heavy, what with all that clay.
From the game’s official Steam description:
Armikrog is a unique stop motion clay animated point and click adventure game from the creators of Earthworm Jim and the Neverhood. Follow the adventures of space explorer Tommynaut and his blind alien talking dog Beak-Beak, as they unravel the mysteries of the fortress that holds them captive through exploration and puzzle solving!

• Loveable characters designed by Doug TenNapel creator of the Earthworm Jim and developed by creators of The Neverhood, Ed Schofield and Mike Dietz.
• Rich cast of voiceover talent brings Armikrog’s characters to life, including well-known actors Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite), Rob Paulsen (Pinky and the Brain) and Michael J. Nelson (Mystery Science Theatre 3000).
• Original soundtrack created and recorded by American songwriter and record producer Terry Scott Taylor.
Good thing we skipped that intro song and exciting animated sequence, or we’d never have gotten through the description box!
OK, fine. Here.
