Well, it’s nothing but big weeks from here on out. This week belongs to Halo 5: Guardians, which I’m personally really excited for. But outside of Halo? There’s a couple of really weird looking games on Steam that I want to play. TOO MANY VIDEO GAMES.
Cloudrift (PC)
What is it? A game where you have to stop yourself from falling off a procedurally-generated cloud. This is some trippy shit.
Should you care? I love the music in this game. I love the style. I see myself playing this.
GALAK-Z (PC)
What is it? Oh man, this looks insane. It’s like a topdown twin-stick shooter taken up a notch.
Should you care? This looks well worth investigating.
Halo 5: Guardians (Xbox One)
What is it? Halo is back. I am excited.
Should you care? I have a good feeling about this game, particularly the multiplayer.
Minecraft: Story Mode (Xbox One/PS4/360/PS3)
What is it? The Telltale Minecraft game gets a retail release.
Should you care? This seems like a lot of fun. Why not.
Outpost 13 (PC)
What is it? A game that totally rips off The Thing. I’m okay with this because you play as the dog.
Should you care? It has that pixel art style, but I love the high concept. Might be worth trying.
Sun Dogs (PC)
What is it? “Sun Dogs is about exploring our inner solar system, altering your body, and embracing death.” Alrighty then.
Should you care? Okay I have no idea what is happening in this game but I’m interested.
The Park (PC)
What is it? A well-made horror game with some seriously interesting themes and mechanics. Essentially a game about a woman looking for her son.
Should you care? This looks pretty cool. Has a press X to Jason button.
Tower of Guns (Xbox One/PS4)
What is it? A rogue-like first person shooter.
Should you care? Seems to have reviewed pretty well.
Vertigo Void (PC)
What is it? It’s a 3D puzzle platformer that looks kinda fun.
Should you care? Looks like a nice simple idea. Sure, why not.
Void And Meddler (PC)
What is it? A cyberpunk adventure that looks (and sounds) super interesting.
Should you care? It has really great art, really great aesthetic. I’m keen.
WWE 2k16 (Xbox One/PS4/360/PS3)
What is it? It’s wrestling video game time! Hurray!
Should you care? Wrasslin’ games are wrasslin’ games. You’re either in or you’re out. Nothing I write is going to change your mind on that.
Did we miss anything? What are you picking up this weekend? Let us know in the comments.

Hasn’t Tower Of Guns been out for ages? It was on PS+ months ago, as I recall?
maybe referring to a retail release? because yeah you’re right, it’s been out on PS4 for ages
EDIT: definitely retail… https://ebgames.com.au/ps4-212979-Tower-of-Guns—Limted-Edition-PlayStation-4
Yeah I have it in my library on PS4. Maybe it’s the PC release or something? Been out a fair while now.
FYI it was on PC well before PS4
Yeah, perhaps – but it says “XBox One / PS4” up there. Maybe a typo, or maybe a physical release like @krisx said above.
Also out this week:
Divinity: Original Sin (PS4/XBOne)
Minecraft Story Mode – A Telltale Games Series (PC)
Project Zero – Maiden of the Black Water (Wii U)
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 V Generation maybe (PC)
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC (PC)
Pink Hour (PC)
Minecraft: Story mode was actually released about 2 weeks ago (the 13th) on Steam.
I got it wrong on all fronts. The physical PC version isn’t actually out till next week.
I’m keen to replay Divinity OS on console, as last time I played it I had to use the under-powered laptop while the gf used the gaming PC (I’d rather I get the worse experience out of the 2 of us), but it’s going to have a hard time competing with Halo 5.
Wait, Divinity’s out on consoles? 😮 I should pay more attention to things
Divinity!
Looking forward to Project Zero! Awwwww yeeeaaahhhh
\o/ Trails in the Sky SC! \o/
So Mark are you in or out on the wrasslin’
I’m assuming the ‘Hurray!’ means he’s in.
I’m not Mark, but I am pretty interested in this year’s WWE game.
As a lapsed wrestling fan (I haven’t watched anything other than Wrestlemania for probably 7 years, but I still enjoy it) I still think wrestling is the best format ever for turning into a game. It’s stupid, violent, over-the-top, perfect for multiplayer with tons of opportunities for customisation.
You have to be careful because it’s a genre that gets more absolutely terrible games than it does gems, but the gems are worth it!
The fact that it has a career mode like the NBA 2K games may make me buy my first wrestling game since smackdown 2.
I want to make the biggest heel ever to grace the squared circle.
Playing the heel is the best. When I was a kid all my mates used to make massive powerhouse guys in WWF games and give them all the most devastating moves.
I just wanted every groin punch, eye poke, bite and sneaky submission possible. WWF No Mercy was the best because you could hold ‘R’ as you were getting up and you could stay crouched in an unhittable position for a few seconds. If you pressed ‘B’ with the right move set you could do a groin punch that would stun them for a few seconds (along with a satisfying “DING!”) and allow you to get another free attack in.
So cheap. So infuriating. So fun (for me).
No Mercy is still the best wrestling game ever made.
You know it’s been a good year when Halo 5 can creep up on you!
My AAA pile of shame is so high now that I probably won’t even get it until next year….. and I’m a Halo fan!
Nothing for me again this week.
I’ll just keep dreaming of Fallout 4…
y u do dis?
I was having a perfectly nice, Fallout-free morning and then this. I will think of nothing else until I sleep now, thanks.
If I must suffer then everyone will suffer!
Yeah, okay Hitler. You’re a real bastard.
Just like Arnie cross dressing as a woman on Mars…2 weeks
Would really love to grab Halo and Ass Creed Syndicate, but I NEED to clear some of my backlog before Fallout 4.
After Xmas, maybe?
How come you’re acting like Galak-Z is something new? It’s been out for months on PS4.
Anyways, I decided to look up the ending to Halo 5. I won’t spoil anything, but if you got tired of grey corridoors from Halo 4 then you’d best prepare yourself.
I haven’t been this unexcited for a Halo game since Halo 1 came out on the original Xbox before I had ever heard of it.
That Sun Dogs thing looks intriguing.
*continues to play Destiny until Fallout 4 comes out*
Ah come on, what’s so bad about Halo 5? You can enjoy playing it with your wife via splitscre-oh wait.
My wife has her own xbox and we are sharing digital games 🙂 but damn slow internet….halo 5 is only at 57% this morning after starting friday night 🙁
Doh may need to move my day off from Wed to thurs lol
The future of gaming!
I can copy it for you nema ️Hahaha all 55gbs 🙂 finished the download last week, patch done on sat
Plays destiny still… Enough said…
Divinity Original Sin on my Xbone? Yes please!
Halo is the marvel movie universe of video games; you know it’ll be enjoyable but at the same time it’s hard to get excited for because it never takes risks or strives to be more than a well produced generic popcorn movie/game
All I care about in this list is Halo 5. Everything else is extraneous.

There is a serious lack of excitement for Halo here, so just swung by to say I CAN’T WAIT TO GET HOLD OF IT. Loved the Beta and moreso I am craving a competitive FPS to sink my teeth in to. Bring it on.
Was looking for an excuse for a day off… Saw Halo 5 was coming out… needless to say am dying to wake up tomorrow morning and go freaking insane!
I feel a cold coming on… my throat’s all scratchy.
Some of the early reviews are saying the campaign is shit….
Not ever what I buy an FPS like this for, but still I was looking forward to the campaign.
Hi Mark! Thanks for mentioning Cloudrift. I’d love to send you a review key if you’re interested? Find me at http://www.friendlyoctopus.net or https://twitter.com/foctopusgames
