Students Remake Metal Gear Solid’s Heliport In Unreal Engine 4

A nine-week class project carried out by four people resulted in some cool Metal Gear Solid fanart.

The heliport was one of the first areas Snake entered on Shadow Moses Island in MGS. It’s also revisited much later, in a dream sequence, during MGS4. As far as Metal Gear locations go, it’s fairly iconic — which is probably why it was picked for this project.

The level was remade using Unreal Engine 4 by four students from Montreal’s Collège de Bois-de-Boulogne, in the context of the university’s 3D Animation and Computer Generated Images program. The task was to recreate a level from a famous video game and, well, that’s exactly what happened. Take a look:
