Need a good AOT palette cleanser… Just saw the live action movie 2 nights ago for the first time. I knew it was going to be bad, but i had no idea that it was such a bloody trainwreck…
does it hold up on its own merit? as in, if you treated this as completely unrelated to the manga…
I wanna say no… but that could just be bias…
The acting was pretty horrid, like melodramatic and cartoonish even. And the characters were really poorly developed, I didn’t care for anyone at all. There’s heaps of things that are underexplained or just not explained at all. The special effects are kinda alright at the beginning but get worse as it goes on. It drags in places between the action pieces, and then gets chaotic where you’re thinking “what’s going on?”. And then it just kinda ends with no real resolution…
though i say this again, this is coming from someone with prior knowledge of AOT. My suggestion would be if you really want to see it, play it in the background while doing something else…
