This Week In Games: 2015 Still Has Some Juice Left

The major releases are all but done and dusted, but 2015 still has some juice in it.

Just Cause 3 is the big humdinger coming out this week. What are you planning to pick up this week?

What is it? It’s a Dragon Quest game. On PC! Whoo!
Should you care? I know very little about this game, but it seems to have reviewed pretty well.

CITYCONOMY: Service for your City (PC)

What is it? This is a game that takes the whole ‘simulation’ thing to new banal heights. Manage the garbage, tow cars, trim hedges. Video games are weird.
Should you care? This is like that Simpsons Yard Simulator game on a grand scale. I don’t understand this at all.

Expander (PC)

What is it? It’s a fast paced reaction game. Looks like an absolutely mind bender.
Should you care? I think this looks good. I like these kind of games. Will have you launching keyboards/controllers at walls.

Just Cause 3 (Xbox One/PS4/PC)

What is it? It’s that game where you do mental shit all of the time and everything explodes.
Should you care? I’m still pretty excited for this Just Cause 2 was superb.

Rainbow Six: Siege (Xbox One/PS4/PC)

What is it? Wait, this is coming out this week? I completely forgot about this.
Should you care? I love the concept: stripping back the shooter and making it team based and whatnot.

Store Manager: Cellular Edition (PC)

What is it? Two insane sim games in one week. This is your lucky day!
Should you care? Live your dream of becoming a store manager!

Xenoblade Chronicles X (Wii U)

What is it? Again — this is coming out this week? Goddamn, this week is a proper sleeper.
Should you care? Apparently this doesn’t quite reach the heights of the last game in the series, but still — a big release for the Wii U. Not many of those these days.

Yo-Kai Watch (3DS)

What is it? It’s kind of a Pokemon style thing. People are hyped on this game.
Should you care? I don’t know enough about this. I can’t see myself getting excited for it, but Pokemon fans should investigate.

Did we miss anything? Picking anything up this week? Let us know in the comments below!

  • I have skipped all the major releases so far: Fallout 4, Battlefront, COD. I have been priming myself for Just Cause.

    • I watched some Twitch streaming of it last night. It looks like a smoother, shiner version of JC2 and I am, unsurprisingly, more than happy with that. 🙂

      • They’ve fixed up my main complaint with JC2 by including inlimited explosives (your ammonia the last game was too scarce) so I’m in / though probably after Xmas – too much Xmas shopping to take care of!

  • Sure wish my Wii U game pad wasn’t stolen. Xenoblades looks right up my alley.

Might pick up Just Cause 3 though.

    • I’m pretty sure you can buy them separately now, if you want to get that box back up and running. Could maybe contact Nintendo Australia, they might be able to help you out

  • Played Rainbow Six: Siege at PAX. Was a lot of fun! definitely a team based game though.

However between SC2, Fallout 4, Star Wars BF, and Albion Online Closed Beta, i just cant get anything else! gone from nothing to everything!

    • It is fun (tried the beta) but it will fail at full price because, well I suck at it – and the one life per round style only appeals to a particular type of player

If it was $20 I would take a chance on it – but at $60 I’m not sure I’ll get my money’s worth

  • I have skipped all the major releases so far: Fallout 4, Battlefront, COD. I have been priming myself for Yo-Kai Watch.

  • Such a lack of JC3 pre-release stuff happening…

It releases tomorrow and all we’ve had is news outlets basically copying and pasting each other and linking to another gameplay video. Where is the hype? This is going to be such an outrageously enjoyable game.

    • I agree, I’m preloading it as we speak and am bummed out since realizing it’s going to be released on Steam only when US East Coast hits midnight. Which is 4pm tomorrow for NSW.

    • Meh. I didn’t mind the 1st and 2nd, but they got pretty ridiculous after a while. Like Prototype without the in-game excuse for your nigh-invincibility/super-powers, blowing up an island largely unpopulated except for the same handful of copy-paste enemy-base layouts spread across an eventually tediously-huge map.

      • Well, from all reports, the map is the same size as jc2 was but a lot more dense and handcrafted. Here’s hoping.. I felt the same way about 2, it just got too tedious because everything was basically the same. I love the idea of an over the top agent running around blowing stuff up… So that’s why I preorder it 🙂

    • Played JC2 on the PC a bit and it looked great…

…and then it was in PS+ and I wound up playing it on the PS3 lots because it felt better on the PS3… never finished it. Just enjoyed hooning around blowing stuff up. Very zen.

      …so I think I’ll JC3 on the PS4.

  • Trying to find out if the physical copy of Just Cause 3 for PC still require an additional download…

Fallout 4 has a whopping 20+GB additional download. Has any got the resources to confirm if JC3 is the same?

    Thank you!
