Yesterday Nathan wrote an article explaining the ways Steam Sales had become boring. I sort of agree, but at sales are sales — they’re a way to save money on video games. I almost feel like the hoopla surrounding them is irrelevant.
So in my opinion, Steam Sales are still useful. They continue to be useful. And this Steam Sale is particularly useful because as far as I can see, it’s managing to bring new games to the party.

I tried to buy a mate of mine who is living overseas a game for Christmas. I didn’t realise steam is now region locked. Bloody stupid.
Wow, seriously? I was going to get some games for my friends in the states as xmas presents. Now…I don’t really have any backup plan :'(
Did you try the gift function as well as “purchase for a friend”? The game may have to sit in inventoty for a certain amount of time first though, making it unsuitable for xmas -_-
Only certain games are reigon locked, It’s at the discretion of the publisher. Also for kotaku, I turned off my addblocker on your site like you so nicely asked. But one of your adds just decided to open a new window and steal my focus while I was typing my 1 sentence reply. So addblocker is going back on until your adds become less obnoxious.
I picked up a Depth 4-pack for 18 bucks, looks like an awesome, asymmetric shark vs divers multi game.
