It’s December, baby. December! The great wave of Q4 video games has crashed upon us, spraying great gouts of #content as far as the eye can see.
As the weather wars and the holidays beckon, what have you been playing? I’ll go first.
I’m still playing Just Cause 3, both to keep an eye on performance patches and just because it’s pretty fun to just screw around and unlock more upgrades. Ditto Fallout 4, though after reaching a pivotal story moment (you’ll know what I’m talking about if you’ve gotten there), I more or less totally lost interest in finishing the story or even playing all that much. It’s not because I hated the twist or anything, it’s just… I don’t know. It kinda lost me. I always do this with Bethesda open-world games, though. I’ll be back at some point down the road. I’ve been on a hiatus from Destiny but I plan to play a bit this month, if only to see what raid challenges are all about. I just finished playing through Cibele, which is a pretty darn cool game that I liked quite a bit. Oh, young love!
I’ve also been playing (and really liking) The Room 3 on iPad, and so far it’s been a cool evolution of Fireproof’s approach to puzzles. Everything is nestled within everything else, and each time a new level or area unfolds, it’s hard not to grin. I’ve been planning to play more SOMA, Undertale, and Bloodborne: The Old Hunters before the end of the year, because I started all three, liked all three, and then got pulled away by other things. Gotta admit, I’m a little nervous about getting sucked back into Bloodborne‘s thrall, though.
I’m sure there are 20 other games I’m leaving off — I’ve got to get back to Black Ops III‘s zombies mode, have barely touched Star Wars: Battlefront, and am keen to play some Rainbow Six: Siege — but for now, that’s enough from me.
How about all of you? What are you playing this December?

SQUUAAAAAADDDDDD!
This December I will be playing my recent PS+ games and some Black Friday bargains, namely Blazblue Chronophantasm, Tales from the borderlands, and Game of Thrones.
Fallout 4 is still getting my attention. Which for me is surprising, because I usually disappear from a game fairly fast and ultimately not going back.
I put down FO4 and went back to Bloodborne. Grinding out my vitality and arcane. Old Hunters does not at all scale well with NG+/+
I can take out a bloodsucker at cainhurst in three hits and get 13k experience, or go into old hunters, take out an old hunter with 6 hits and get 4k :/
Lego Batman 3, Halo 5, and I should probably get a start on Rise of the Tomb Raider!
Santa.
Skyrim.
Just Cause 2.
Yeah, I’m cutting edge – what of it?
I finished assassin’s creed III on the weekend. I might have to join you on that edge
Careful – it’s cutting
Ark
Battleships
Just Cause 3
Black desert
the crew
SAO: Lost Song and Xenoblade Chronicles X will feature heavily along with side servings of Crimson Shroud, Disgaea 2’s post game content and Breath of Fire III. I’m also working my way up to being able to take on the Carnage Dimension in Disgaea 5. I have also been meaning to play through Undertale, Kingdom and Darkest Dungeons so that may happen this month… or not. I am terrible at staying focussed on my game playing plans.
How are you finding SAO?
XENOBLAAAAAAAAAADE
I have been watching so many videos of it this week, and I’ve already been full of hype for like the last three years.
This last couple of days is going to kill me…
Fallout? Fallout. Falloutfallout.
Then Witcher 3 expansion, then probably trying to catch up on Shadowrun, and maybe finish the second act of MGS V.
Car Mechanic Simulator 2015, its much fun
Still going strong on Splatoon. I jumped on the bandwagon a little late but I’m starting to get the point where I am not the lowest level in a match. Not that it always matches abilities, I am pretty regularly rotating between 2nd, 3rd of 4th spot and occasionally get the top.
Rank is just time spent, the first weapon is one of the very best, and gear stats mean very little.
I’m loving the sloshing machine atm, it’s way better than other sloshers, and it’s great at nailing snipers from below.
I used a few different rapid fire splatter type weapons but eventually went with something with a bit more range, the dual squelcher.
I like the dual squelcher, it’s waaay better than the jet. If you like it also take a look at the 96 gal, it’s the very best “if you could only have one” weapon imo.
It’s superb range let’s you compensate for lag by keeping everyone away, the sprinkler let’s you build special quickly, and the echo is a fantastic team buff.
Dual S has the echo too – great for the team and gives everyone a good chance to land some splats.
fallout 4, battlefront and more nba2k. Probably yo kai watch too if i get it for christmas.
Just started on Metal Gear Solid V, even though the intro. left me more confused than a second series episode of Fargo… (admittedly I’ve never played through a Metal Gear Solid)…
I’m hoping to finish MGSV, because I’m keen to check out Fallout 4.
Bloodborne has my complete attention at the moment though (again), so there’s a big chance it could dominate my time.
Also looking forward to some quick online rounds of Battlefront, to build up some movie hype.
Dragon age inquisition and shadows of mordor, been waiting all year for a price drop
Will most likely go between Fallout 4, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Just Cause 3.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3D (3DS)
Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition (PS4)
Mass Effect 2 (PS3)
Star Wars Battlefront (PS4)
Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd (Vita)
Volume (PS4)
Crunchyroll (Food Wars and Free!)
Probably push through more of fallout 4. So much to explore… and I actually want to this time. Stuff the main quest (grumble grumble)
Might get back into Dragon Age: Inq. That’s still solid, just so intense on the mechanics side of things.
Mainly GTA 5.
Bought the DriveClub season pass on sale last week, so I’ll probably go have a play with some of the new cars / events that I’ve got available now.
Going away for a few days post-xmas, if I decide to take the Vita along then perhaps a bit of Persona 4 Golden (still!).
Way too many bloody games
Fallout 4 is my main
Then its Star Wars, Black Ops, Just Cause 3, and then a few other games that I got free on xbox that I’m trying to get to
In no particular order:
Fallout 4
Battlefront
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Hearthstone
Fallout, Destiny, some Just Cos 3. Will probably dip into a few others, but those would be the main ones for the foreseeable future.
Fallout 4
Halo 5 multi
Dying light co op
Van helsing co op ( if I can get it to install that is)
MK X
Rise of the tomb raider
Forza 6
Game of thrones
Seinfeld fans may recall the summer of George?these upcoming holidays will be the summer if chachi, ensuing muscular atrophy be damned I say!
So I’ve been working on my pile of shame for a while now, the last game I purchased was Bloodborne in March, I only have the following games left:
GTA: SA (95% completed), Read Dead Redemption, Crysis 2, The Witcher 2 (50% completed), Skyrim, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, AC3, Blops 2, DD: Dark Arisen, AC4 DLC.
Hoping to finish these as well as the Bloodborne DLC in time for DarkSouls 3 🙂
Rocket League
Battlefront
AC Syndicate if I get it as a holiday gift
Just picked up endless legend and divinity original sin in the steam sale. Have fallout 4 fatigue and getting a new graphics card at Christmas so I’ll wait till the new year before I play again.
R6 Siege, Bloodborne, and attempting to start on my 3DS backlog. Also the usual WoW, mostly just PvPing these days.
Trine 3 and probably Borderlands 2
Fallout 4, might move onto Tomb Raider if I get bored with Fallout, but I have a lot of unplayed PC games I’ve been trying to get through. I bought an Apogee/ID retro pack a few months ago and despite most of those games being childhood favourites, are too clunky to play now. Very few games from that era have legitimately aged well, so it’s been fun to install them, play them for half an hour, then delete them and move them to my junk folder.
