You’ve probably seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but chances are you didn’t pick up on what appears to be a shoutout to Metal Gear designer Hideo Kojima.
The official Star Wars website published a list of the many voice actors who contributed lines to the movie today, from stormtroopers to resistance pilots.
What we’re interested in is what sound designer Robert Stambler said:
ENHANCE.
I’d heard there was a Kojima shoutout in The Force Awakens a few weeks back, but didn’t have a way to outright prove it. Thanks for the help, Lucasfilm!
Technically, Kojima also translates to “small island”.
So far as I know, there’s not a clip of this part on the internet. If you’ve managed to find it, please drop it in the comments and we’ll add it ASAP!

He played us like a damn fiddle!
Huh.
Didn’t notice it at all when I saw it yesterday.
Or, you know, C3PO’s arm. http://a.disquscdn.com/uploads/mediaembed/images/3083/7274/original.jpg
And a bonus, Starkiller voicing a trooper?
Your theory is correct. Sam Witwer was Starkiller in force unleashed. 🙂
So glad James Arnold Taylor got a camo. Such a great voice actor!
