Darkest Dungeon And Its Gothic Terror Has Finally Left Early Access

Darkest Dungeon was one of the best proponents of the Early Access model when it became available early last year, and while the development process wasn’t without a few bumps it’s pleasing to see the title have pride of place on the Steam page to mark its full release.

If you’re not familiar with Darkest Dungeon, it’s a turn-based roguelike RPG where you’re tasked with managing the psychological scars adventuring leaves on your party as much as the monsters you find within. Red Hook created a gothic, almost macabre style that’s immediately catching and the game has a great (if sometimes repetitive) narrator to boot.

It’ll set you back just over $29 (US$20) to jump on board with the latest CRPG, which is a high enough price that most people will baulk at an impulse purchase. Here’s Kirk’s initial impressions of the game to help you out.
