Dayshot: World of Warcraft‘s next expansion is shaping up nicely. It just got a new alpha build, and while it’s still in early development, one thing’s for sure: Suramar, a new zone in the Broken Isles, is already looking absolutely terrific.
You might remember a simpler version of Suramar from WarCraft III. It is the home of the Kaldorei and this is where their ancient capital Suramar City overlooks the entire region. It feels like a mixture of Draenor’s Shadowmoon Valley, Eversong Woods and the Howling Fjord. And Moon Guar Bastion (the fortress in the top pic) even reminds me a bit of the elven city of Suldanessellar from Baldur’s Gate II.
Here are some amazing shots, shared by Red Shirt Guy, and here’s a lot more in hi-res. Remember the game’s still in alpha (Suramar City for example has no textures yet), so all this scenery will eventually be filled up with life. Can’t wait to get my characters over there!
Dayshot showcases some of the prettiest, funniest game-related screenshots and art that we can find.

Reminds me the old Azhara combined with some other vanilla and TBC areas.
Reminds me of Draenor’s Talador and Shadowmoon Valley, if the later weren’t in a constant state of twilight.
‘Stunning’. Looks like WoW. I’ve got a lot of fond memories of that game but it’s generally not something you play for stunning visuals, at least not any more. Back in 2006 maybe.
