Paweł Mielniczuk is character art director at CD Projekt Red, developers of The Witcher series. In these images, you’ll see some of the design process behind one of The Witcher 3’s main characters, Yennefer.

Klaudia Wróbel

Note that Yennefer’s face was originally supposed to be based on that of Polish model Klaudia Wróbel, who you can see to the left.

Mielniczuk explains, though, that “after initial in game tests I decided to reshape the face looking for [a] more colder and mean look.”

He certainly got both those right with the final model, with a dash of eternal sadness thrown in for good measure.

You can see more of Mielniczuk’s work at his Tumblr and ArtStation page.
