Capcom Says It's Fixing Street Fighter V's Rage Quitting Problem

There's no punishment for being a rage quitter in Street Fighter V right now. The game doesn't interpret leaving mid-match as a win or a loss for either side, and it's made a bunch of players furious. Capcom has told Eurogamer that it will be fixed, though it's unclear how or when. "I can confirm that it is something we are going to be addressing to make the gameplay experience one that all fans can enjoy and be rewarded fairly for," a Capcom spokesperson told the publication.

The bigger question: how did the game ship without an answer for this?

Easy, if you quit a match it's counted as a forfeit and you lose that match.

They just have to fix the netcode stability first.

would also like it if they put in a bit of code where repeat offenders (say by scanning the players log and if it's only wins and disconnects) then putting them in rage quit jail, like a lot of other games do

Considering the problems SFV is having with recurring disconnects from servers, read disconnection every 5 minutes. How are they sure if not just a manifestation of the issue kicking players out of the game servers mid fight? Capcom needs to get their house in order first before possibly penalising players for something out of their control.
