Rocket League Now Runs Better On PS4

Rocket League never ran badly on the PlayStation 4, but it did often drift from its baseline 60 frames per second in moment of chaos.

Now it doesn't.

Post the release of Rocket League on the Xbox One, Digital Foundry took a comprehensive look at the performance of Rocket League on both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. They discovered that, as a result of post-launch patches, the performance of Rocket League on the PlayStation 4 had improved markedly.

Interestingly, the Xbox One version runs pretty much identically. A solid 60 frames per second at all times with next to no dips in frame-rate.

It's the sort of thing you're unlikely to notice in the heat of the game, but I can't help but get wrapped up in this sort of tech-geekery.

Worth a watch if you're as pedantic as me!

I wish I was consistent at this game. One game I'm on fire, the next I'm stuffing up at every opportunity. I some how managed to win a 1 against 2 ranked match yesterday when my team-mate decided he'd had enough at the 1 minute mark, then the next game I get slammed. Argh! Too bad I can't blame it on a shitty frame rate haha

Haha, totally agree! Doesn't help when you go from having a good game with friendly people, to a bad one with angry angry people :(

I find it hard to see dips in frame rate when I have so many connection issues, even on the Oceania server (playing on Xbox One). My ping can be as low as 40 but I still get extremely laggy numerous times a game. Anybody else getting this too?

Yes, absolutely - I had a very laggy few games last night and this morning ... I was getting better connection (and even scored MVP a few times!) on the US servers (even with 200+ ping). I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic that someone, somewhere is working on making the Oceanic servers much better.

Oceanic servers have always had occasional rubber banding ping probs on PC. Was worse at launch. Playing on US gives you high pings but not rubber banding, and same here i do better on US despite ping. Its not much of an issue now on PC, so hopefully Xbox fixes it too.
