Be still my beating heart. We’ve got bacon, a fried egg and udon noodles.
As recently noted on GNavi, Japanese restaurant Koya Bar in London serves up a very special English breakfast: fried egg, bacon and shiitake udon.

I love fried eggs. I love bacon. I love shiitake and, goodness, I love udon. All this sounds, and looks, utterly delightful.

I’m definitely going to make this at home here in Japan.

*any food* looks delicious with bacon.
Throwing a fried egg and ham on noodles (fried, soup, or otherwise) is pretty much a staple in Asian households…
I’ve watched enough Miyazaki to agree with this guy.
But in the long term, will Japan look better with significantly lower longevity and increasingly more prevalent “Western” life style diseases? I noticed the change quite distinctly in my 14 years living there. It’s most obvious in the kids who camp out at McDonald’s every day. The major mitigating factor is that overall the population indulge in excess Westernised food and food habits with moderation.
Japanese food is great. Bacon is great. This is a win for mankind.
I prefer poached eggs with my noodles, not fried 🙂
