I’m Commander Shepard, and this is my least favourite racist on the Citadel.
Continuing his tendency to Tweet absolutely anything, no matter how ridiculous, Donald Trump recently shared the following video with his 7.3 million followers:
MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!https://t.co/4uWRyTeEr3
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 4, 2016
Yes, that is Mass Effect music and voice acting throughout the ad, which appropriately ends with a title card reading “TRUMP EFFECT”. I think we’re supposed to understand that Hillary Clinton is one of the Reapers in this analogy? A Reaper… dog? I’m not sure, because really, the ad is hilariously terrible.
Trump didn’t make it of course; he credits another Twitter account, who credits a YouTube account, which redirects to “Commander Trumpard”. It’s entirely possible that whoever made it initially meant it as a troll. Whatever the origins, Trump has seen it and deemed it worthy enough to share/endorse.
And yes, folks at Bioware have definitely seen it too:
TFW Donald Trump retweets campaign propaganda that uses music and voiceover from a game you worked on #gross https://t.co/KMYDRb72fd

I love the idea that Trump may think he’s the Illusive Man, who is verifiably the bad guy in the game

Trump is indoctrinated, that makes so much damn sense. THE REAPERS ARE REAL

Amazing.

Every time i see Trump,I think of a completely different character that Martin Sheen played. The one from “The Dead Zone”.
This has gone too far now. They’re mocking the Holy Trinity. How dare they!
If you’re going to talk about somebody on the internet, it’s best to not tell lies about them.
That’s a very fair point.
Trump isn’t on the Citadel at all. (Although he may claim his Name is)
Why do you call it a campaign ad, anyone with a brain can tell its a video some 17 year old created with Windows Movie Maker.
However, what it is doing is showing that Trump is using memes as a form to connect with a massive audience on the internet. Did you see what happened when he retweeted a pepe meme of himself? 4Chan basically exploded.
I wonder if Mr April would #gross all the gamer poop videos and countless Mass Effect prom of his art I’d so sacred. Doubt it, because if there is one thing I’ve learned in the last few months, people will bend sell out themselves if it means to get a shot at insulting Trump.
Clearly the video shows Trump as Commander Shepard, Hillary and the Democrats as the Collectors and Wall Street as the Reapers. The illusive man would clearly be the Republican Party itself.
Trump/Trumpeteers are obviously doing this to get a reaction out of games-dom. This comment I’m posting means it’s working. I get the irony, yes.
If EA was to ignore all of it, than the domino/ripple/cause and Effect (damnit) would have been lessened, somewhat. The activism happening in gaming isn’t going to go away in a hurry, so stirrers who like to snipe need to accept that.
Trumpeteers, assemble!*
*in my replies, no doubt
I thought the video was hilarious.
I’m pretty sure that was making fun of Trump, what exactly did he think was praising him?
