Dreams are real once again! The Ghibli Museum in Tokyo’s Mitaka has a Catbus from the classic anime My Neighbour Totoro. Until now, only children (children, ha!) could get in the Catbus. But this July, there will be a Catbus that adults can also board. Thank goodness.

Cinema Today reports that the Ghibli Museum will be closed for maintenance and renovation through July 15. But, from July 17, an exhibit will open called “Ride the Catbus to the Ghibli Woods”. It features a new, updated take on past exhibits, like a previously displayed Catbus that adults, as well as children, can board.
Tickets go on sale starting May 25 and the exhibit wraps up in May 2017.

Come on, how much did you want to jump in the Catbus? Also there was a school excursion the day I went, 20 kids in their uniforms all jumping in the bus at the same time. Cuteness overload XD
OMG OMG OMG! I asked politely if i could sit in Catbus… I got a polite “no I’m sorry” If you do go I highly recommend the Warm apple cider with cream and cinnamon …. Its like drinking an apple pie!!!

HOW GOOD WAS THE WHOLE MUSEUM!?!?! Lost my shit. Unfortunately at 6’4″ I’m a bit big for a lot of stuff, my girlfriend was having a blast though hahaha.
The whole place was magical….. I know how to speak very very little Japanese.. but this place made me deeply regret not knowing how to read Japanese!! never the less its an amazing place
Yeah I was playing translator for the GF all trip, it makes a huge difference. Like she lost her wallet. As it’s Japan, someone handed it in immediately and because I’d lodged a police report etc they called and we got it back 😀 It’s not easy though, I haven’t been tested that much since my hospital trips due to snowboarding mishaps 😛
