15 Minutes Of Days Gone In Action

Days Gone looked great at E3, but was the victim of one of the few misfires at Sony's E3 conference. They showed the trailer at the start, then inexplicably showed gameplay an hour later, right at the end of the presentation.

This 15 minute demo is an expanded version of that footage, and it provides a more in-depth insight into what you'll be doing in Days Gone.

Days Gone is being developed by Bend Studios, who last released Uncharted: Golden Abyss on the PlayStation Vita. This makes 100% sense. Days Gone is clearly a video game inspired by Naughty Dog's work in The Last Of Us. The aesthetic, the dialogue, the combat, everything feels very Naughty Dog -- to the point where I openly wondered if Days Gone was a Naughty Dog game.

It's not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it's probably a good thing. Days Gone looks gorgeous. It also looks broader in scale compared to The Last of Us.

I also think the character design says a lot. The lead character seems interesting, with a back story worth investing in.

There's also the fact that you'll be battling against hordes of fast paced zombies. That's also pretty cool, especially the scale of it, which is what seems to really make Days Gone unique. Either way, I'm keen. Looking forward to seeing more.

I thought the zombie hordes looked pretty cool. But then a friend linked this and I can't help but chuckle a bit whenever I see the game now :P

This is the game I'm most looking forward to out of all the E3 announcements. Will definitely be keeping a close eye on this one.

This does look interesting, but I was a litte let down as before watching the gameplay I kept reading online how it was such a realistic looking and feeling game. First minute into the gameplay he reaches into a car engine to make a silencer for his pistol and then proceeds to walk around talking to himself. It's really about as realistic as Dead Rising at this point. Impressive body count though, even if they looked like they had a severe bullet allergy.

I thought this game looked kinda mediocre myself.

Actually most of E3 this year was uninspiring for me apart from Zelda. God Of War/Gears Of War/general dudebro games don't really float my boat.

I wonder if you will be forced to run around like a idiot like that, or if you have a few options of what to do, for example running off into the forest or something.

I was 100% sure during the livestream that at the end of the gameplay section it would be revealed that Days Gone was just the subtitle for The Last of Us 2. That would've been a hell of a way to end the conference.

Why do I get the feeling that if he didnt shoot his gun, didnt climb anything, didnt set fire to anything or knock anything over into the path of the fast moving zombies the level would have ended exactly the same way. Looked like endless spawning zombies.
