The first half of 2016 has been, let’s be honest here, pretty damn insane. Oxenfree, Overwatch, Dark Souls 3, The Witness, Uncharted 4. In my opinion it’s been the best start to a year in recent memory.
But it’s just the beginning. There’s so much more to come.
My question: for the remainder of 2016, what games are you most looking forward to?
For me? It’s probably No Man’s Sky and The Last Guardian. I’m also excited about Dishonored 2. Oh, and Inside.
How about you?

Metroid Prime: Federation Force.

(you’re gonna get fkn rekt m8)
Can we make it dusk? I don’t feel like getting up early.
*kicks goolies*
(legit though I can’t think of anything else on the horizon that shows promise at all other than Zelda, which isn’t til next year)
I think I’m going to actually enjoy that game. The h8rs are h8ing h4rd, but I still have hope.
I was hyped for it from the start, and thumb my nose at anyone having a cry about it 😛
I raise your thumbed nose and bite my thumb sir!
Dragon Quest VII & Final Fantasy XV fo sho
No Man’s Sky and PSvr are all I’m really excited for.
Though I’ll pick up Legion, Bf1 ect for something to do.
Same here, though I still can’t believe NMS is not going to be VR. Feels like a huge missed opportunity.
Yeah definitely.
I can see where they’re coming from, the ship to foot transitions and such would be disorientating. But I’ve played on foot games on a rift dev kit with no issues. It’s not ideal but not a problem either.
A fade to black while you jump in and out the ship could be a compromise surely.
Never say never. Games can have updates, and I’m sure that Sony will be pushing Hello Games to include it. It would be quite the boost to the PSVR, if it does happen.
No Man’s Sky, definitely. Also pretty excited for the new Deus Ex.
nothing other than Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE
Final Fantasy XV … (maybe)
Pokemon Sun/Moon
Hollow Knight
Severed (Wii U)
All these games have me cautiously optimistic:
Watch Dogs 2 (although I don’t believe Ubisoft have any idea how to inject humour into a AAA game)
Deus Ex (although it keeps getting delayed which sometimes spells trouble and their last game Thief was disappointing)
Ever Oasis (my wife and I need something to replace Fantasy Life but no idea when it comes out)
Persona 5 (although I’ve never played one before)
Final Fantasy XV followed closely by Pokemon Sun/Moon I would also say WoW: Legion but… I barely want to play that wouldn’t be surprised if I opt out on release.
No Man’s Sky (if it gets PSVR compatibility), Dishonored 2 and Destiny RoI.
Love my Stealth action adventures so…
Dues Ex Mankind Divide in Aug
Dishonored 2 in November
Will be interested in No Mans Sky if it actually survives the first realese month of critcs, a lot of hype and doubts the premise of the game has… twitch streamer reviews will be critical.
South Park Fractured But Whole with bonus points if Australian Censorship board doesnt make the koaka cry.
Wow legion if I find time to return to it as a casualol, being a former hardcore player.
Space Marine
Its hard to really look forward to anything as the best game that will come out this year has already been released.
It was called Stardew Valley.
I’m hearing good things about this. Plan to pick it up on console when it’s released.
I played it in its entirety on PC with a 360 controller and it worked great.
If anything it might even be a better experience with a controller.
I have a feeling I’m going to put a whole lot of hours into Pokemon Go.
I’m really hanging for three games this year:
Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens
No Man’s Sky
Watch Dogs 2
there are so many but my tops ones are nms, robinson the journey, horizon 3 and destiny roi
FF15 – It’s been a long time coming and, to all outward appearances, looks amazing.
Pokemon Sun and Moon – New Pokemon, always event games, interesting to watch the competitive meta change.
WoW: Legion – New WoW xpac, will be huge for a few months at least. I know I am going to sink an inordinate sum of hours into it in the first 2 weeks.
Infinite Warfare – Kinda a gimme, usually makes an asstonne of monies but genuinely looks great, something I’ve not said about a CoD game in quite some time.
I “would” have put No Man’s Sky on this list but I think the hype machine is slowing down a bit. There are a lot of things on peoples plate and with recent news and so on, NMS has shifted toward the periphery.
Let’s see…
Instant Buy;
Deus Ex Mankind Divided
Watch Dogs 2 (I really like the first game so the ability to control vehicles remotely has pretty much guaranteed a sale from me notwithstanding the reviews)
Titanfall 2 (again this and Watch Dogs were the first games I got for my Xbone!)
Dark Souls III DLC
Wait and see
Inside (everyone is saying that it’s good, I played 2 hours of Limbo last night and that’s definitely a good games that does a lot with very little)
Below (looks enticing – want to see how it plays)
We Happy Few (again need more info on this but it looks a lot like Bioshock)
Recore
Dead Rising 4
Odin Sphere: Lefthraisir is my current hype train but I also have a ticket on the Star Ocean 5 and I am Setsuna Express trains. World of Final Fantasy is starting to register on my radar and I’m looking forward to trying out the God Eater games. I am super excited for XCOM 2 on consoles too. In the “Almost hype” category I have KOF XIV and Yomawari. The second half of this year is just as jam packed with great games as the first.
Dishonored 2 and Last Guardian are the two I am most excited for.
Once upon a time I would have been super psyched for FFXV, but everything they have released so far looks awful. I expect that to flop.
I Am Setsuna and Pokemon S/M at this point. Cautiously optimistic about Final Fantasy XV, but I might look at reviews first before jumping into that.
We happy few
That will be the one I’m looking forward to the most, been following it for a long time
Civ VI is also out so that could be interesting, although not sure when I’ll pick it up
Deus ex, ff15, dishonored 2, dead rising 4
I’m mostly looking forward to Forza Horizon 3. That’s pretty much guaranteed to be great. I’m cautiously optimistic about ReCore. I’m really hoping that it’s cool. I was also looking forward to Final Fantasy XV, but after e3 I think I need re-convincing on that one. What they showed didn’t exactly make it look good. Hopefully it’s alright.
Is no one else looking forward to star citizen?
The question was for this year
I am, hoping to see SQ42 this year.
I can wait for the PU stuff though. Need better internet in my area to fully enjoy the game I reckon
Man why has no one said Monster Hunter? That shit is gunna kick arse again.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
No Man’s Sky
The Last Guardian
Sometimes Always Monsters
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Inside
South Park
I’m looking forward to a bunch, but with the little games I have played in 2016 so far I don’t see myself getting very many, mainly cause I don’t have the money, also I’m not satisfied/interested in playing games these days compared to 4-5 years ago. Besides that hears the few I will most definitely get.
-The Last Guardian
-No Man’s Sky
-Dishonored 2
-Inside
-Battlefield 1
Other possible games
-Titanfall 2
-Manifold Garden
-We Happy Few
