Yet another reason to make my last shot at learning Japanese count; so I can play this game if the big wigs don’t release it in the west.
Android you say?
Might grab this, would be great on a tablet.
Ghostbusters
Team Mystic
Layton
Can’t wait for lady Duke Nukem!
Duchess Nukem
Wait did you really think Team Mystics leader was a dude? Her name was Blanche? Which is a woman’s name…. That’s like being surprised that a silhouette named Melissa turned out to be a woman.
As a straight white male, I for one cannot stand for this blatant pandering to *gasps* females with female lead characters
This is actually a better way of catering to fans who want a female lead than gender swapping the main character. Far better to have a new character that can be developed rather than just swapping pronouns.
I have never played a Layton game but now I feel like I should just to find out who the mother is. It’s one of those weird things I need to know when a main character suddenly has a child without ever having had any love interests or romances shown previously.
There is a sort of past love interest in the last game, so maybe the mother is related to that storyline?
Who is her mother?
If no one has watched the Professor Layton movie is pretty awesome.
Whoever translated that name as “Cattley Eyl” needs to hit the books and revise their katakana! 😉
There’s no indication of any space between the syllables in her first name (usually a dot, like the one separating her first name from her surname), so her name is actually “Katrielle”, which is a real girl’s name.
As a side note, I wonder if this game is going to recognize Layton’s son from that other mobile game set in the Layton universe? You know, the one who looks nothing like Layton whatsoever?
I’d ask what happen to Layton’s adopted daughter but I don’t think I want to know
and honestly I’m wary of playing this game because I’ve been burned by Layton’s deeply unfair mystery storylines one too many times. Even Layton vs Ace Attorney, which absolutely has to be solvable by the player because of the format of the game, managed to get in a completely implausible twist.
