There’s a new Call of Duty coming out this year. Thing is, people are more excited for the remastered version of the old Call of Duty accompanying it.
It’s not without reason, of course. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is one of the best shooters ever made. Hell, it’s not unfair to say it’s one of the influential games of the last decade, considering how it popularised the expansion of the experience system in non-MMO games.
But a lot has changed from the original Modern Warfare, as the new trailer shows:
It’s nice to see that the trailer isn’t just a remastered version of the original from 2007, either.
Those who pre-order Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare on PS4 will get early access to the Modern Warfare Remastered campaign for a whole month, which is a fair lot for a campaign that’s about 10 hours long. But you probably shouldn’t pre-order games anyway.

standalone when ?
You would think that it will eventually happen, but I wouldn’t think so for about a year, as this is a solid sales tool for Infinite. From their FAQ

No, you must own Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in order to get Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.
Yeah, thought it was a far shot
I just don’t want to buy IW….. it does not appeal to my sensibilities
I pre-purchased IW Legacy Edition from Ozgameshop. But they aren’t doing the MW campaign early access because apparently they didn’t get any access codes.
Just a heads up for anyone thinking of doing this. Doesn’t bother me that much, because I was gonna get it anyway.
They look the same…
