What Are You Playing This Weekend?

This is an image of a website. It’s a website designed to help advise you on what heroes you should be picking for what situations. I’m using it because I don’t really know how to play Dota 2 properly.

So I’m going to try to learn. While playing ranked matchmaking, in the lowly 2000’s. It’s going to be quite the journey.

I don’t know whether its just years of practice getting beat by Koreans in Brood War and StarCraft 2, but the prospect of a dwindling MMR doesn’t actually bother me a great deal. And while Dota 2 still has plenty of problems with dickheads trying to ruin things with their One True Way of playing, I’m finding that I’m genuinely enjoying the game.

Weirdly, it’s replaced No Man’s Sky for me. I put 55 hours into exploring that universe, but I can’t see myself going back any time soon. All I ever did was end up amassing money. I haven’t seen Nada or Polo yet. I’ve only encountered the one Atlas Stone. But I’ve got 14 million saved up, so that’s what matters, right?

But don’t get me wrong. I’ve enjoyed my time with that little space explorer. But it’s time for me to move back into my natural field of something more competitive. I like working hard. I like the difficulty. And I like trying to see whether I can rise up the ranks through hard work. So it’s the nightmare that is ranked matchmaking in Dota 2 for me.
