DC comics has announced a new six-part miniseries by Kevin Grevioux and Ryan Benjamin called The Odyssey of the Amazons, set in Amazonian society years before the birth of Wonder Woman. Great Hera, sign us up.
The series will follow a group of adventurous Amazons who left the safety of Themiscyra to venture out into the world, fighting legendary mythological creatures and rescuing some of their own from Norse Storm Giants along the way.
The Amazons have always been a fascinating, but secretive, area of Wonder Woman’s backstory, usually only explored in relation to Diana. So getting an epic adventure that explores their past is definitely intriguing. Odyssey of the Amazons begins 18 January 2017.
