Famed Japanese animation house Studio Ghibli (Totoro, Spirited Away) has signed a deal with Amazon to stream its kid's TV series, Ronja the Robber's Daughter, online in the West (or at least places that can get Amazon Prime).
Directed by Hayao Miyazaki's son Goro, Ronja is an adaptation of a book by Swedish author Astrid Lindgren, and began airing in Japan in 2014.
This Western version of the show will feature narration by The X-Files' Gillian Anderson.
It will be available online in the US, UK, Germany, Austria and Japan; there's no word on when it'll become available to Australians.

It's not really a Studio Ghibli series. Goro Miyazaki directed it, but the animation was by Polygon Pictures. It's pretty good for 3DCG but it still looks pretty stiff a lot of the time. Plot itself was so boring that I gave up about five episodes in.
AnimeLab offers a feedback platform so I've made the following as a suggestion. If people are interested, get behind it :)
