As Luke said, the fun of a rollercoaster game is in the building. So naturally, someone built a park based on Star Wars.
“In the excitement of Disney building these lands in their parks,” wowman posted on the Planet Coaster forums, “I decided to make my own stab at this in Planet Coaster.”
And so Star Wars Land, a park for for all Jedi and Sith to enjoy, was born. It’s even got a Jedi Tower that patrons enter through a “secret” tunnel:
Here’s a closer shot of the X-Wing just outside the tower:
Like any good theme park, inside the tower is a ride and a queue that flows through some of the more iconic chassis of the Star Wars series: hollowed out transports, dips and turns past X-Wings, all fashioned with some sensible mood lighting.
The level of detail outside doesn’t quite match the lower streets of Courscant, which wowman is using as inspiration for the main street of his park. But for a game that’s only been fully released for a few days, a game that people are still getting accustomed to, the effort is impressive.
I’d say it makes me wonder what people are going to be able to recreate in six months or a year, but what’s out already is freakishly good.
