Earlier this morning, thatgamecompany dropped a single image on Twitter, hinting at a new game. Details are thin on the ground right now, but when the minds behind Flow, Flower and Journey announce a new game, you can’t help but get excited.
The first image dropped was two candles on a blue background with the caption: “a game about giving”. The tweet also links to a Twitter account for @thatnextgame. Subsequent tweets showed a line of children holding hands, and then finally a stone archway on a hill, with blue sky in the background.
The website has a few lines about the new title (and a recruitment call for any devs out there):
Our next game after Journey is currently in development and will be self-published.
Release date and platforms to be announced. In the meantime, we’re hiring!
Is the game about candles? Is it about children? Is it related to Journey in any way? We really have nothing but wild speculation at the moment, so jump in the comments and speculate away!

THIS GAME SUCKS!!1
The picture of the stone archway with a massive cloud in the background looks something straight out of Studio Ghibli.
About bloody time! It’s been nearly 5 years since Journey, I was starting to wonder if they’d ever release another game.
I’m not sure how many of the Journey staff are still there at this point, other than Jenova Chen?
HYPE!
Also, that archway image is beautiful and is now my phone background.
They’re remaking Ys II?
I got all tingly just seeing this news
