There’s No Cake Like An Ultimate Chicken Horse Cake

And on the list of things that I know for a fact I won’t be able to do, I present this cake.

It’s the brainchild of baker Yummy Pixels, who has been out of the video game cake baking world for a little while. But after Ultimate Chicken Horse emerged as one of the more popular games during video game nights – perfectly understandable, really – she decided to recreate two of the game’s levels in edible form.

“I originally wanted the characters to be around the whole cake, but because I made them too big, they only fit in the Rooftop part,” Yummy Pixels, who posts on Twitter as puyoda, wrote.

The exterior of the cake, and all of the frosting, is created using Satin Ice rolled fondant. It’s basically the consistency of solid frosting, if you like that stuff.

Taste of solid frosting aside, it’s an impressive homage and an excellent reminder of the talents I don’t have. (And a reminder to play some Ultimate Chicken Horse again.)
