Is that Zelda? FEMALE LINK? Is she playable in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? Are people reading too much into this?
Yesterday at The Game Awards, Nintendo showed off some brand new footage from Breath of the Wild, which will be out this autumn for Wii U and Switch. First they showed this sleek trailer, which teases some sort of female character:
Lots of people are theorising that this is a teaser for playable Zelda. Maybe it’s not. Who knows? Nobody! What we do know is that there’s a female character who’s dressed a LOT like Link, despite the fact that Zelda boss Eiji Aonuma has told Kotaku that you only play as a man in Breath of the Wild.
We also got to see reps from the Nintendo Treehouse playing through a tough forest section.

God forbid the blue tunic is just some uniform they wear and Zelda wears the same uniform (But it’s not a dress!! /s). I swear it’s almost like if this game doesn’t end up having Zelda being playable or female Link (the latter already being confirmed as a no) people will scream bloody murder for unmet expectations they created out of thin air and saw what they wanted to see.
Completely agree. Don’t know when people will get it through their heads that there will be NO FEMALE LINK. Stop speculating about things that have already been confirmed as not happening, or you will be disappointed and you’ll have no-one to blame but yourself.

All you need to know is It’s a Zelda game and it’s gonna be awesome.
Yeah but Linkle might be playable….
Come on guys, it’s clearly Link’s mum!
Im fairly sure that Nintendo already announced, like months ago, that there would be no playable female character…
