After spending the last few years in Sydney, this year’s EB Games Expo will herald the event’s return to Australia’s warmer, northern parts. Scheduled for October 7-8, the expo will set up shop in the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, with tickets going on sale in March.
The event will once again be open to the public, according to the press release and other than the date and place, doesn’t really have much information regarding the expo’s contents.
There is a quote however from EB’s events director Debra McGrath on why the company is returning to Queensland:
“The EB Expo burst onto the scene in spectacular fashion on the Gold Coast, and we’re so excited to bring this now world-famous event back to Queensland,” said [McGrath]. “Last time we were on the Gold Coast sessions completely sold out. This year we’re expecting the whole show to sell out in record time.”
Along with PAX Aus, EB Expo is one of the biggest local gaming events on the calendar and should have a few surprises in store for attendees. Though the promo video accompanying the release doesn’t really drum up excitement.
I’ll just leave it here.
