Lumberjanes Is Being Turned Into A Children’s Novel Series

Lumberjanes is already one of our favourite all-ages comics around — but now, the delightful series is going to become its own line of children’s novels, bringing the fun of Miss Qiunzella Thiskwin Penniquiqul Thistle Crumpet’s Camp for Hardcore Lady Types to an even bigger audience than it has now.

Amulet Books announced that it has gained the world rights to publish a series of illustrated novelisations based on Shannon Watters, Grace Ellis, Noelle Stevenson and Brooke Allen’s beloved series, about the adventures of a group of girls at summer camp discovering all sorts of weird and wonderful creatures and locales beyond the camp’s boundaries. The first in the series, written by Mariko Tamaki, will feature new black and white illustrations from Allen, the comic series’ original artist.

Between this, the comics themselves and the upcoming movie, Lumberjanes is pretty much invading all possible forms of media it can. Can we get an animated series on Netflix or something while we’re at it? Tamaki’s first Lumberjanes novel will hit shelves in October this year.
