A Good List Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Recipes

Image: Nintendo

Cooking in Zelda is very interesting. I'm actually not that interested in saving Hyrule, the end game for me is figuring out how to make a succulent, hearty bowl of porridge.

It's actually insane the permutations allowed, almost overwhelming. So if you're looking for an extensive list of recipes to experiment with, you've come to the right place.

Because of course there's already a burgeoning wiki of Zelda recipes. There had to be.

Today I learned you can make 'Energizing Meaty Rice Balls'.

What else is possible? How about a 'Hasty Veggie Cream Soup'? Or a hearty omelette. This is off the chain.

Until I scrolled through this list I was fairly sure Link was on Paleo in the truest sense of the word. But nah, looks like the dude will eat anything he can get his hands on.

[Walks up to Serrels while he cooks and whispers in his ear.]

".....Dat's noh how you make porridge."

Time to cook up a storm!

[Throws random ingredients into the pot and winds up creating Halle Berri]

.....Not what I had in mind but still no complaints....

I wish the game made it more clear what counted as a "critter". WoW has trained me to take that to mean small animals, but Zelda seems to think it only applies to lizards and insects?

critters are a pain in the ass to catch.. sneak sneak -> RUN -> JUMP -> FURIOUSLY TAP A

And frogs? Their description specifically says they can't be used in cooking but can go in elixirs, I think they're the only other animal you can get other than fish which fall under the category of food.

my brother and I are working on a tool that will generate all of zeldas recipes and you will be able to filter them by materials, effects, hearts, and sell values. We're still working on it but we uploaded a sortable list of recipes to get started.

there's already an app that does this! it even lets you mark off all the materials you currently own and gives you a list of all the recipes you can create currently :)

        whats it called? thanks, gwenmlo
